Collective AGI (noun)
A decentralized form of Artificial General Intelligence in which multiple diverse AI systems, agents, and human participants collaborate as an interconnected network, sharing intelligence, knowledge, reasoning, and capabilities to achieve goals beyond the capacity of any single entity.
A socio-technical paradigm that treats AGI as a shared, evolving commons — open, inclusive, and governed through cooperative intelligence rather than centralized control.
A secure & efficient path for AGI development where safety, speed, and scalability emerge from collective participation, open protocols, transparent processes, and distributed alignment.
Synonyms: Networked AGI, plural AGI, Cooperative Intelligence, Swarm Cognition.

The Civilizational Path to AGI
Rooted in History
Human intelligence didn’t become powerful & general in isolation. A single brain is limited. What made human intelligence general and world-changing was the civilizational process - networking, collaboration, cooperation, languages, systems, culture, knowledge, institutions, governance, commerce, exchange, law and ethics all compounding across generations.
A pattern/Fractal
Just as ecosystems evolve through networks of interdependent species, human intelligence evolved through networks of interconnected minds. Civilization became humanity’s first great outcome of collective intelligence, recursively shaping & expanding the power, capability, and reach of human intelligence itself.
Applied to AGI
In the same way, AGI cannot emerge from a single artifact or mono-worldview. It must arise through civilizational systems & processes involving plurality, networks, institutions, and shared participation - using the very mechanisms that once scaled human intelligence to now scale & generalize artificial intelligence.
